VITA Malt Bequia Basketball Championships Results

Young Duke, Wizards, Rising Stars & Raptors won matches last weekend in the VITA Malt Bequia Basketball Championships at the Hard Court of the Clive Tannis Playing Field in Port Elizabeth.

Young Duke defeated Blazing Heats 73-51 in the Second Division, with Lennox Ince scoring 23 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists for Young Duke, and Jovanni Derrick having 26 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal for Blazing Heat.

Rising Stars had the better of Blazing Heat beating them, 101-55 also in the Second Division after Jadley Bynoe led Rising Stars with 31 points, 7 rebounds, 7 steals and 1 block; and Jovanni Derrick had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals for Blazing Heat.

In the First Division, Wizards beat Raptors 73-62. Dareo Glasgow led the scoring for Wizards with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 1 block, while for Raptors, Keon Skinner had 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block

Also in the First Division, Raptors defeated East Blazers 61-60.For Raptors, Reon Ollivierre had 14 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal. The leading scorer East Blazers was Kelan Edwards with 20 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.

The Championships will continue this evening with matches in the Under-16 Division. At six O’clock, Titans will meet Hawks, and at 8.00 pm, Young Duke will face Blazing Heat.
