The new Russian Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines Alexander S. Kurmaz this week presented his credentials to Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne.
Ambassador Kurmaz expressed his desire to work to further strengthen and solidify the existing bond between St Vincent and the Grenadines and Russia and to encourage mutual support and closer collaboration.
The Ambassador hosted a reception for persons involved in facilitating co-operation between both countries, with brief remarks coming from Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture, Cecil Mckie.
St Vincent and the Grenadines established diplomatic relations with Russia on September 17th 2002 and has maintained a friendly and fruitful relationship over the years.
St Vincent and the Grenadines and Russia have co-operated in several areas, including education and tourism and both countries are looking forward to concluding a Visa Waiver Agreement to enhance people-to-people relations.
