Vincentians are being advised to ensure that they are ready for the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season, which opens on June 1st.
Director of the National Emergency Management Organisation, NEMO, Michelle Forbes issued the word of caution, noting that the 2018 Season is forecast to be above average.
Miss Forbes has warned against complacency, and appealed for vigilance throughout the entire six-month period. And she stressed that residents must prepared for any type of natural disasters, and not just Hurricanes.
Miss Forbes said NEMO is focusing on improving its Emergency Early Warning Systems and a workshop will be held tomorrow to address this issue.
