The Sustainable Grenadines Incorporated (SUSGREN) said it is pressing ahead with a number of programs, as it continues to focus on environmental protection.
Executive Director of SUSGREN, Dr. James Lord said they are now into Phase 2 of the Ashton Lagoon Restoration project.
The project was officially launched in September 2015, and when it is complete it will restore the Lagoon to its former glory following a failed mariner project.
Dr. Lord said the engineering work has commenced and this is being carried out by a Contractor from Union Island.
He said SUSGREN recently hosted a delegation out of Germany which is also a major investor in the Ashton Lagoon Restoration project.
He says the St. Vincent Electricity Services has also been lending support to the project.
