SUB-LIEUTENANT ON FISHERMEN SAFETY

Fisherfolk across the nation are being urged to take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety at sea.

The word of caution came from Sub-Lieutenant Vinton John of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coastguard Service, during NBC’s Face to Face program yesterday, as he addressed issues relating to marine safety.

Sub Lieutenant John said it is important for Fishermen to be aware of their location at all, times and to keep persons informed about their movements on the high seas and he encouraged Fishermen to invest in safety devices.
