Chairman of the National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority, Gideon Nash, said the organization will continue to ensure the protection of forested areas throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He gave the assurance during the Views on Issues programme aired on NBC Radio on Sunday, which focused on the importance of trees.
Mr. Nash said the authority has a mandate to protect and maintain these forested areas.
Mr. Nash said it is imperative that persons have a greater appreciation of the importance of trees to the natural environment.
