An initiative dubbed Libraries Lead is being undertaken by the National Public Library, Archives and Documentation Center, as it seeks to sensitize young people on the roles and functions of the Library and to promote the Information profession.
The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the University of the West Indie (UWI).
Librarian, Jeon Adams-Julien, said the programme, which commenced on Monday, is targeting schools throughout the country.
Mrs. Adams-Julien said students are also sensitized about the various programmes being offered at the National Public Library.
