Trinbago Knight Riders gained a 27-run victory over St Lucia Kings

TKR vs Kings

Trinbago Knight Riders gained a 27-run victory over St Lucia Kings in last night’s second match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at Warner Park, St Kitts and Nevis.

After winning the toss and fielding first, captain of Trinbago Knight Riders, Kieron Pollard led from the front with 41 off 29 balls including 6 fours and 1 six. Tim Seifert made 37 off 25 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes, and Sunil Narine, used to open the innings, contributed 24 off 32 balls with 4 fours, and Trinbago Knight Riders posted a total of 158-7 off 20 overs. Fast bowler, Kesrick Williams topped the bowling for St Lucia Kings. He took 4-24.

Opening batsman, Andre Fletcher then hit 81 not out off 55 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes, but he received very little support from the rest of the St Lucia Kings batting as they reached 131-7 off 20 overs in their reply. For Trinbago Knight Riders, fast bowler, Ravi Rampaul took 3-34, and left-arm, medium pacer, Isuru Udana had 2-32.

This morning’s match at ten o’clock will be between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders. The second match will be at 7.00 p. m between Jamaica Tallawahs and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Both matches will be at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis.
