The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment said it is continuing to closely monitor its surveillance systems to ensure that people in St. Vincent and the Grenadines remain in optimal health.

Medical Officer of Health in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Dr. Roger Duncan made this statement during an interview with NBC News while noting that the Ministry continues to pay close attention to global health issues.

Dr. Duncan said the Ministry continues to monitor reports relating to Ebola, M-pox and other health issues that are of concern across the world.

Dr. Duncan said they also continue to upgrade and enhance the local health system and are now able to test for many of the diseases which are of concern, on the global stage.

He appealed to people to get tested when they are sick, advising against  self-diagnosis, so they can be treated for the correct illness.
