Over one hundred residents of Glebe Hill in Barrouallie was officially presented with Over one hundred residents of Glebe Hill in Barrouallie received an early Christmas gift, when they were yesterday officially presented with letters for title to the land, which they have occupied for many years.

Some 612-thousand 4-hundred and 60 square feet of land were given to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council by the Anglican Church for distribution to residents in the area.

The Government subsequently purchased the land from the Christian Council at fifty cents per square foot, and it is being re-sold to the residents at ten cents per square foot.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony yesterday, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the lands were sold at a bargain price.

Meanwhile Parliamentary Representative for the area, Maxwell Charles said the process took decades to complete and he thanked the residents for their patience.

And Former Parliamentarian Louis Straker described the day as a red letter day in the lives of the people of Glebe Hill as they were presented with title for their land.
