The Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries has sent off a shipment of over 16-thousand pounds of fish to the United States today.

The announcement was made by Minister of Fisheries Minister Saboto Caesar, during a News Conference this morning

Minister Caesar said this is the largest single shipment to the United States, and it is a significant development for the Fisheries sector.

He noted that this achievement has resulted from the persistence of the Ministry in sourcing markets for local produce.

Minister Caesar noted that St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be able to ship even larger volumes of fish, when air access improves, with the opening of the International Airport at Argyle.

The 16 thousand pounds of fish comprises Red Hind, Butter Fish or Coney, Grunt, Barracuda, Parrot fish, Snapper and Old Wife all of which were sourced in the Grenadines.
