Reparations Education Discussion To Be Held In Marriaqua

NBC Revised-HiRes Corporate_Transparent

Residents of Marriaqua and surrounding areas will be enlightened on various issues relating to reparations, during a discussion set to take place next week.

The Reparations Education Discussion is being organized by the National Reparations Committee, in collaboration with the Interior Zone Community Organisation(IZCO) of Marriaqua, headed by Nigel Morgan.

The session will hear presentations from members of the SVG Reparations Committee including; Pastor George Frederick, who will give a general overview of Reparation.

Committee member Marlon Stevenson will focus on the Garifuna Struggle, while Chairman of the Reparations Committee Jomo Thomas  will speak about the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.

Following the presentations the floor will be open for general discussion.

There will also be a cultural performance will come from the Resistance Heartbeat Drummers.

The Discussion is scheduled to take place on Thursday November 28th  from 7pm at the Marriaqua Community Centre.
