St. Vincent and the Grenadines is the latest member country of the Regional Security System RSS to receive a modern finger-printing system and other equipment from the US Embassy.

The tools were handed over to officials of the Criminal Investigation Department CID of the Police Force yesterday, as part of the ongoing thrust by the RSS to respond to security threats in the region.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy Christopher Sandrolini said the advanced finger print information system AFIS will improve regional security throughout the Eastern Caribbean.

He said the system will enhance the fingerprinting process and provide support investigators at crime scenes.
