The Health Disaster Response Mechanism has been activated by the Ministry of Health, in the wake of last week’s natural disaster.

The Health Disaster Response Mechanism has been activated by the  Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, in the wake of last week’s natural disaster.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Luis de Shong said this means they are making more resources available to respond to the current situation in the country following the rains and flooding on Christmas Eve Night.

Mr. de Shong said they are also continuing efforts to ensure that there are no outbreaks of Diseases.

Mr. de Shong said several health professionals have been deployed throughout the country to aid in the Health Disaster Response Mechanism.

He urged persons to contact their health professionals to receive water purification tablets which will help to keep drinking water safe.
