The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has ordered over four million dollars worth of building materials from Jamaica….

The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has ordered over four million dollars worth of building materials from Jamaica, to repair houses that were damaged during the low level trough system on December 24th.

This was announced by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves at a Media Conference this morning.

The Prime Minister says over four hundred houses were damaged during the torrential rains.

The Prime Minister says the local Galvanize Factories have given a commitment to credit the Government over two million dollars.

Meanwhile … The Prime Minister says the Central Water and Sewerage Authority is expected to provide pipe born water to all areas of mainland St. Vincent, following the extensive damage caused by the trough system.
