As the National Recovery effort continues, organizers of last Saturday’s Charity Concert in Barrouallie say the event was very successful.

The concert was organized by the Jeffers Family Foundation to assist persons affected by the trough system on Christmas Eve.

CEO and Founder of the Foundation Philcol Jeffers says they were able to raise over five hundred dollars in cash, and also received donations food and clothing items.

Jeffers says the items will be distributed on Thursday to families in Buccument and Spring Village.

Mr. Jeffers said the Foundation will also be collaborating with the Ministry of Health to carry out health checks on persons in the affected areas, following the distribution on Thursday.
