Vincentians are being encouraged to take the necessary precautions to reduce the risk of being targeted by thieves of other criminal elements.
The advice came from Commissioner of Police, Michael Charles, during the Police on the Beat programme aired on NBC Radio on Monday night.
Commissioner Charles said every individual has the responsibility of safeguarding their property to avoid becoming victims of crime.
Commissioner Charles also appealed to licensed firearm holders to take special measures to secure their weapons.
