The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is continuing to assess the damage to this country’s housing stock, in the wake of the flooding and landslides which occurred in December last year.

Speaking at a news conference this week, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves says close to 500 houses were damaged or destroyed during the severe weather event.

The Prime Minister informed members of the media that 495 houses were affected by the weather event.

He said those that were seriously damaged were mainly in South Leeward and North Leeward, as well as the South Rivers area.

But he noted that several other areas were also affected
