Local advocacy group, the People’s Movement for Change (PMC), has declared 2014 as the ‘Year of the Nation’.

Chairperson of the People’s Movement for Change (PMC), Oscar Allen, said this is one of the major initiatives of the group, which has been in a state of dormancy for the past 18 months.

Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Mr. Allen said while the group will be focusing on the relief and reconstruction of the nation, emphasis will be placed on bridging the political divide.

Meanwhile, when asked about the involvement of Government Senator Jomo Thomas in the PMC, Mr. Allen said the group endorses his appointment.

However, Mr. Allen said the PMC has set a number of guidelines which must be followed.
