Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne said while the recent disaster of Christmas Eve has tested the mettle of the Vincentian people, he is of the firm belief that everyone in the country will continue to show their resilience during this time.

He made this statement during his Throne Speech to mark the start of the 2014 Budget Address in Parliament yesterday.

The Governor General said his thoughts and prayers are also with those individuals and families that lost loved ones as well as homes and other property.

He said the Government has also already embarked on an extensive program aimed at the rebuilding of the country.
