An appeal is being made to Educators across the nation to exercise compassion in their interaction with students at this time.

The appeal came from Chief Education Officer, Lou-Ann Gilchrist during a News Conference last week.

Miss Gilchrist said the Ministry of Education is providing special assistance to children who were impacted by the December 2013 trough system. But she noted that teachers and principals need to monitor these students closely.

Miss Gilchrist said a number of organizations are supporting the Ministry of Education in assisting children, whose lives were disrupted by the floods and landslides.
