The National Broadcasting Corporation handed over a cheque to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves yesterday, to go towards the ongoing national recovery effort, in the wake of devastation caused by floods and landslides which occurred in December last year.

The cheque, in the amount of 125-thousand dollars, represents part of the proceeds from a radiothon, organized by NBC Radio and several other Radio Stations, to raise funds to help those affected by the severe weather.

It was presented to the Prime Minister by Deputy Chair of NBC’s Board of Directors, Theresa Daniel, during a ceremony at Cabinet Room this morning.

During his remarks, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves commended local businesses, organizations and individuals, who contributed to the ongoing recovery efforts following the devastation caused by last month’s floods.
