Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne said the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines will this year continue its efforts to modernize the country’s health sector.

He gave the assurance while delivering the ceremonial Throne Speech in Parliament on Monday, to mark the start of the Fourth Session of the Ninth Parliament.

Sir Frederick said modernization of the health care services is being supported by an 8.6 million euro project funded by the European Union and the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Sir Frederick said infrastructural development in the form of repairs to existing facilities and the completion of new facilities will continue in 2014.
