Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is leading a delegation to the Second Meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) this week.

The CELAC meeting, which opens in Havana Cuba today and runs until Wednesday January 29th will focus on a range of regional issues.

The local delegation also includes the Prime Minister’s wife Eloise Gonsalves; Foreign Affairs Minister Camillo Gonsalves; Senator Jomo Thomas; this country’s Ambassador to Cuba Dexter Rose and Director of the API St. Clair Jimmy Prince.

CELAC is a Regional bloc of 33 Latin American and Caribbean states, which was formed at the Unity Summit held in Mexico in February 2010.

The Organization aims to unite all of the Latin American and Caribbean States, in order to strengthen the Political, Social and Cultural integration of the region, and stimulate economic growth.
