St. Vincent and the Grenadines was represented at a two day youth forum held in Guyana last week.
CARICOM Youth Ambassador Kishore Shallow attended the forum, held at the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown, Guyana.

The two day seminar focused on the CARICOM Youth Development Action Plan (CYDAP), which is being developed to guide national policy, integrated planning and action regarding youth. The objectives of the Regional Youth Forum were to develop youth as well as environmentally friendly educational materials and a tool kit to support stakeholders in the development and implementation of

CYDAP. Additionally, the Forum sought to develop youth-friendly and gender responsive marketing strategies and communication materials to promote the CYDAP.

A release from Caricom says CARICOM Youth Ambassador Shallow spoke fervently about the general inclusion of youth in the process and said the engagement of the youth in development planning must be part of the recipe for a successful region in the future.

The forum welcomed youthful participants from across the entire region, representing different youth organizations.

An official awareness campaign is expected to begin soon for the CYDAP, which will be led by the CARICOM Youth Ambassador Corps.
