Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves says that the Mustique Charitable Trust (MCT) has continued to assist the Government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on a number of different projects, since its inception in 2008.
He made this statement during a ceremony which was held today at which the MCT donated one million Eastern Caribbean (EC) dollars to the Government, which will be used in the ongoing relief and recovery efforts following the disaster on Christmas Eve.
Prime Minister Gonsalves said he believes the Mustique Charitable Trust is arguably the most active Charitable Trist in the Eastern Caribbean and St. Vincent and the Grenadines is fortunate that the organization is active exclusively in this country.
The Prime Minister said since the early days of the disaster the Mustique Charitable Trust and the Mustique Company have been assisting in the relief efforts.
He said today’s handing over is yet another illustration of the close relationship which exists between the Government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Mustique Company.
