Over 100 residents from Fitzhughes and Mission Corner in Chateaubeliar who lost their household appliances during the floods in December last year, were presented with refrigerators, stoves and mattresses yesterday, to assist them in getting back on their feet.

The distribution was carried out by a team of Government officials, led by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves announced that funds have already been approved by Cabinet to re-build and repair some 662 houses which were damaged or destroyed during the December floods.
