The National Society of persons with disabilities will be hosting its annual March and rally tomorrow under the theme “Empower persons with disabilities through Education and Training.”
The March is expected to begin 10:30 am at the Peace Memorial Hall Kingstown and end at the Victoria Park with a Rally.
The objectives of the March include raising funds for the Melanie McKenzie Educational Scholarship Fund, heightening awareness of persons with disabilities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and strengthening the relationship among organizations and institutions serving persons with disabilities.
The Melanie McKenzie Educational Scholarship Fund currently provides scholarships for five children with disabilities, as well as and four students from special schools and one from a mainstream. Educational institution
This project is the brain child of the late Melanie McKenzie who was a former President of the National Society of Persons with disabilities.
