The Ministry of Transport and Works has signed a contract with Dipcon Engineering for the rehabilitation of the South Leeward Highway.

The Signing took place at a News Conference held at the Ministry of Transport and Works Conference Room this morning.

Addressing the event, Chief Engineer Brent Bailey says the project will include work on the drainage for the Milton Cato Memorial.

Meanwhile Minister of Transport and Works, Julian Francis has appealed for the support of the public, while the south leeward highway is being rehabilitated.

Speaking at this morning’s News Conference, Minister Francis said residents in the area may have to endure some inconvenience.

The South Leeward Highway Rehabilitation Project was officially launched in October last year.

The 40-million project is being funded by the Caribbean Development Bank, and will involve the rehabilitation of the road which stretches from the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital down to Layou.
