SVG Continues With Land Management Program

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is continuing with its work to develop a National Land Management Action Plan.

This was highlighted by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) Actors Focal Point, Todd Lewis as this country join the global community to observe World Day to Combat Desertification today.

The Day is being observed under the theme “Eco-system-based Adaptation” with the slogan Land Belongs to the Future – Let’s Climate Proof It.

During NBC’s Views on Issues Program, Mr. Lewis said while this country experiences two seasons during the year which area wet and a dry season, it has experienced extreme conditions under these seasons over the years.

He said as these issues can lead to desertification, it is empirical that this country develop its National Land Management Action Plan to address this global problem.
