Students at the Bethel High School are next in line to receive their laptops today under the One Laptop per Child Initiative.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Government began on Tuesday at the West St. George Secondary School, where over three hundred Acer Laptops were distributed by Officials in the Ministry of Education.
Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, is expected to at the Bethel High School today to be part of the Presentation ceremony, which begins at 8:30 this morning.
The Ministry of Education has advised Parents or Guardian of students to bring along their identification cards to sign the contract forms on behalf of their children.
The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the United Kingdom’s largest Publishing Company, Dennis Publishing, owned by Felix Dennis, signed a deal to provide over 12,500 laptops to supply to Secondary Schools.
Meanwhile … Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has expressed sadness at the passing of Mr. Dennis, who died on Saturday at the age of 67.
