Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan, Weber Shih is currently preparing to depart St. Vincent and the Grenadines to take up a new post in his native country.
Speaking during a farewell ceremony which was held for the Ambassador last evening at the Official Residence of the Prime Minister, the current Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves thanked Mr. Weber Shih for his contribution to this country’s development.
Prime Minister Gonsalves highlighted that while the Governments’ of both countries have had great relations over the years, it is the people to people link which has helped to ensure the growth of bilateral relations.
Former Prime Minister, Sir James Mitchell said St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Taiwan have both enjoyed great diplomatic relations since his time in office and it is his hope that this relationship can continue to grow.
