Local Permaculturalist, Luke Punnett, has highlighted the many benefits of Permaculture – a new form of sustainable agriculture being introduced in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He was speaking on the Views On issues programme aired on NBC Radio on Sunday, which focuses on the topic: ‘Green Living’.
Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive systems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems.
Mr. Punnett said it is the harmonious integration of the landscape with people providing their food, energy, shelter and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way.
Mr. Punnett said this new system of agriculture utilizes all available natural resources.
