CWSA Reports Broken Pipelines

Four water supply systems have been impacted by the torrential rains, resulting in loss of water supply to some areas.

The Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) says the Montreal, Majorca, Hermitage and Jennings water systems were affected as a result of the recent heavy rainfall that resulted in high river flows and flooding in several areas.

As a result, there have been reports of broken distribution lines in several communities on the Windward and Leeward side of the island, which have together resulted in loss of water to some communities.

They are Belmont, Top Questelles, Top Belair, Belair – area across Jack and Little’s residence, Vermont, Choppins, Biabou, Gibson Corner, New Montrose, Kingstown- Heritage square area, Block 2000.

The CWSA says it working to restore water to affected communities and will also keep the public updated as new reports are received.

The public is also urged to continue to call CWSA’s emergency line at 4571445 to report instances of leaks, broken lines or water outages.
