Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Raymond Ryan, has pointed to the importance of family farming to the economic development of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He was speaking at the recent launch of activities to mark World Food Day, which is celebrated annually on October 16th.
World Food Day 2014 will be observed under the theme: Family Farming, Feeding the World, Caring for the Earth.
The UN General Assembly has designated 2014 “International Year of Family Farming.”
