A church service will be held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Georgetown today, as this country joins the global community to observe Universal Children’s Day.
Students from Primary, Secondary and Post-Secondary Institutions in the Georgetown area will attend the Service which begins at 9:30 this morning.
In a Radio Address to mark the Day, Minister of National Mobilization, the Family and Youth Affairs, Frederick Stevenson said several other activities will be held under the theme “Stop Violence Against Children”
Minister Stevenson pointed to the importance of the protection of children from all forms of violence.
He said violence remains a harsh reality for some children.
