The three bedroom house owned and occupied by Mrs. Nora Browne and her family, went up in flames shortly after 11:00am.
Eyewitnesses say, no one was inside the house at the time of the blaze even though there were persons outside.
They were however, unable to save anything as the blaze was too strong.
One fire tender responded and was able to put out the fire just after 2:30 pm.
One person is assisting the police with their investigations.
