Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar says local authorities may have to consider introducing a new variety of banana here that is more resistant to the Black Sigatoka Disease.
Minister Caesar made the disclosure, as he responded to a question in Parliament on Tuesday.
He was providing an update on the progress being made in containing the spread of Black Sigatoka here.
Minister Caesar said other courses of action are being considered to address the issue of Black Sigatoka.
