The St. Martins secondary and north union secondary schools string bands were officially launched here this morning.
The musical instruments for the bands were donated to the Ministry of Education by Mr. Leo Lewis and other donors.
Speaking at this morning’s official launch Education Officer of Music at the Ministry of Education’s Curriculum Development Unit Dexter Bacchus listed some of the objectives for launching the program and highlighted some of the reasons for promoting music education.
Meanwhile Senior Education Officer with responsibility for Secondary Schools Asfo Stephens expressed gratitude to all involved for making the launch possible.
