SVG Local Heritage Is Under Threat

The point has been reiterated that local Heritage is under threat due to the invasion of foreign cultures in the media.

This was reiterated by President of the Garifuna Heritage Foundation, David Darkie Williams during yesterday’s launch of a photo exhibition dubbed Garifunas and Descendants, at the National Trust Building in Kingstown.

The exhibition which was made possible through a collaborative Effort from the Ministry of Culture, The Garifuna Heritage Foundation, the Alliance Francaise and the Directorate of Cultural Affairs in Martinique, was launched as part of activities to observe National Heroes and Heritage Month.

Mr. Williams said while efforts are continuing to document Vincentian History, more needs to be done in this regard.
