The Carnival Development Corporation, CDC, says the launch of Vincy Mas 2015 will be held for the first time at Carnival City Victoria Park, next week Saturday May 02.
A release from the CDC says from 11:00 am next Saturday Heritage Square will feature Pan Music with appearances by the 2015 Junior Calypso and Soca Finalists.
The CDC says there would also be performances from traditional Mas characters and Pan around the neck, who would be moving around Kingstown providing entertainment. Entertainment would also be provided by the C W Prescod marching band.
Activities for the children include Bouncing Castle and Face painting. The Heritage Square activities will culminate at 3:00 pm giving patrons the opportunity to refresh for the official launch which begins at 7:00 pm.
This year a parade dubbed “the celebration train” will journey from Heritage Square to the Victoria Park. The festive procession begins at 5:00 pm and features all components of Vincy Mas with a display of floats from major sponsors of Carnival 2015.
During the launch the contestants in the 2015 Miss SVG Pageant will make their first public appearance. This would be followed by presentation from Mas Bands, a Pan side and then the New Song competition for Calypso, Ragga Soca and Soca.
