The SVG Hotel and Tourism Association says it is in the process of developing a Code of Ethics for Members of the Association.
As part of this process, the Association recently held a seminar entitled “Ethics in the Workplace” at the Grenadine House.
The Seminar covered a number of topics including What Is Ethics; Benefits of Ethics in the Workplace; Making Ethical Choices; Use of Company Property; Misuse of Company Resources; Confidentiality; and Conflict Management.
The highly interactive seminar was developed by Facilitators, Vera Anne Brereton and Sharon Francis in recognition of the many existing gaps in this increasingly important subject area.
Participants were drawn from establishments on mainland St Vincent and Bequia.
The Association will also be developing a similar seminar – ETHICS IN THE WORKPLACE – PREPARING FOR THE JOB MARKET – targeting high school graduates who are preparing to enter the job market.
