Technology has been identified as a critical element in the move to strengthen the competitiveness of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the international arena.
The point was made by Minister responsible for Information and Communications Technology, ICT, Camillo Gonsalves, as he wound up debate on the Electronic Transactions Bill, which was passed in Parliament last Thursday.
The Bill was introduced to repeal and replace the Electronics Act Chapter 145, to give legal effect to electronic documents, records and signatures and related matters.
Minister Gonsalves said the Government is creating a framework to enable local stakeholders to benefit from developments in the field of ICT.
Two other Bills were also passed at last Thursday’s meeting of Parliament: the Electronic Filing Bill and the Domestic Violence Bill
