An Old Montrose man has been arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
The suspect has been identified as 34 year old Labourer – Junior Phillips.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday at Victoria Park and involved Police Constable 162 Orlando Glasgow.
According to a police statement, Phillips grabbed the officer’s uniform at the front close to his neck while the officer was executing his duties.
Phillips has also been charged with resisting arrest.
He is expected to be brought before the courts soon.
