St. Vincent and the Grenadines continues to work along with other countries in the region and the hemisphere to address issues such as transshipment of narcotics and small arms.

That’s according to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Camillo Gonsalves who was addressing participants at the opening of a workshop on the Proliferation Security Initiative and Ship Boarding Agreements.

The agreements relate to the networking of countries to fight against the accumulation and transportation of Weapons of Mass Destruction and other Illicit Items.

Minister Gonsalves said that criminals will eventually try to use the region for the transport of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Minister Gonsalves said mechanisms must be put in place to prepare for any eventuality in the fight against Terrorism.
