The Ministry of Transport and Works says there are a number of critical areas which they want to address under the Coastal Defense Project.
Chief Engineer Brent Bailey tells NBC News, while Sandy Bay is one of these areas, the area between Basin Hole and the Georgetown playing Field in the north of the country is also a very critical area.
Mr. Bailey said this area experiences as much as five feet or coastal erosion every year.
Mr. Bailey said the Ministry is conducting studies to ascertain what measures must be put in place to ensure that the Coastal Erosion is addressed in a timely
manner.
