As part of activities, International Cleanup Day group of local volunteers will be combing a Beach at San Souci this Wednesday to pick up litter.
The day will be observed on September 26th, when thousands of volunteers pick up trash from the coastlines and waterways around the world.
The volunteers collect data about sources and types of trash that are harming the oceans and waterways. The data is used to raise awareness and shape policy decisions from local to international level.
One of the Organizers, Tasheka Haynes says several agencies will come together on Wednesday for this pre clean-up exercise.
Ms. Haynes is reminding citizens of the importance of keeping the environment clean.
