Prime Minister Designate Dr. Ralph Gonsalves this morning in an interview with NBC Radio thanked God and the supporters of the Unity Labour Party for what he described as a historic magnificent victory.

The Unity Labour Party (ULP) was re-elected to govern the affairs of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for a 4th consecutive term; though not gaining any more seats, The ULP was able to keep the 8 seats it previously held after the 2010 General Elections.

The ULP held on to the North Windward Constituency contested by Montgomery Daniel, the North Central Windward constituency represented by Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, South Central Windward- Saboto Ceasar, South Windward- Frederick Stevenson, Marriaqua- won by St. Clair Jimmy Prince, East St. George retained by Camillo Gonsalves, West St. George- Cecil Mc-kie, and the ULP also held on to the Central Leeward Constituency contested by Veteran Politician Sir. Louis Straker.

The ULP also put up a good fight in the other two Leeward seats, with the preliminary count showing Jomo Thomas losing to Nigel “Nature” Stephenson in South Leeward by 13 votes, And, Carlos James in North Leeward falling short of taking the constituency by a mere 7 votes; a total of 18 ballots rejected in that constituency.
