
The Christmas Barrels Concession Initiative is progressing slowly so far, since it commenced on November 7th.
According to Operations Officer at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority, Wallwin Nichols this maybe because most persons were preoccupied with the 2015 General Elections campaign.
Mr. Nichols said they are expecting an increase in the clearing of barrels and other personal effects from next week.
Mr. Nichols said this year the Port Authority employed close to two hundred workers at Campden Park and Kingstown to accommodate the anticipated large influx of Christmas barrels.
