As questions as to why Nice Radio Owner- Douglas “Dougie” DeFreitas was released from police custody without charge linger, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force noted that it knows what it is doing.
Douglas DeFreitas- Managing Director of BDS Ltd, operator of Nice Radio, was arrested at the E.T Joshua Airport on Thursday December 10th, the day after General Elections.
On the day in question, Mr. DeFreitas while on radio announced that a great fraud had been committed on the people of SVG and called on supporters of the New Democratic Party to journey to Layou, where a recount of ballots was taking place and let their presence be felt.
Michael Charles, the Commission of Police told NBC News that while DeFreitas has been released from police custody, the matter is still being investigated and charges will be brought against DeFreitas if need be.
